Graded items, sometimes called seconds or A/B grade stock, are brand new items that have been returned to the original manufacturer.
There are many possible reasons for this: from items not working, to damage occurring to the packaging within the manufacturers supply chain or even simple delivery errors. In many cases, it can be hard to distinguish a graded stock item from a perfect one.
Once purchased directly from the manufacturer, we put an appliance through an exhaustive quality control programme in our workshops. We correct any technical faults so that it functions like new, and we ensure that any remaining imperfections are purely cosmetic. Only when an item has been thoroughly tested in this way and we are completely satisfied that it functions as it should, do we grade it according to the cosmetic imperfection.
Critically, all graded items are protected by the original manufacturers warranty covering their functionality (but not their appearance). This means that if an item breaks down within the warranty period, the manufacturer will honour the terms of the warranty.
Checklist for buying graded stock from us:
* A graded item functions like new, but is not brand new and is not perfect.
* A graded item will show cosmetic imperfections.
* We describe these imperfections accurately and fairly, so that you know exactly what you are buying.
* A graded item will cost substantially less than the same item brand new.
* A graded stock item is protected by the original manufacturers warranty for its functionality.
* A graded stock item is not protected by the original manufacturers warranty for its appearance.
